THE ROUTE
Across the tundra to the edge of the Barents Sea
Teriberka lies roughly two hours from Murmansk, where the road crosses open tundra before meeting the Barents Sea. Wind, visibility and road access can change how long we spend at each stop.
The day follows the coast through old Teriberka, the ship graveyard, Dragon Eggs Beach, the Dragon’s Lair, Battery Waterfall, red cliffs and the viewpoints above the sea. In winter, snow and ice decide how close the car can get.
Your guide and vehicle are private. Lunch is at a local restaurant, and a boat can be added when the sea is calm enough to sail.

THE PROGRAMME
A full day on the Arctic coast
Allow about 9 hours from pickup to return. We agree the start time with you before the tour; weather may change the order of the stops.
DEPARTURE · Murmansk to the tundra
We collect you from your hotel and drive north-east across open tundra. The journey usually takes about two hours each way, with stops for the open landscape along the road.
OLD TERIBERKA · Harbour and ship graveyard
We begin in old Teriberka, beside the harbour and the weathered boats left on the shore, before continuing towards the open coast.
THE COAST · Dragon Eggs and the Dragon’s Lair
Walk the rounded boulder beach and see the rock formations above the Barents Sea. Paths can be snowy, icy, wet or windy, so the guide adjusts walking time to the group.
CLIFFS AND WATERFALL · The open Barents shore
Battery Waterfall, the red cliffs, giant swings and the Traveller’s Bench come next. In deep winter, reaching the waterfall may require the optional snowmobile-towed sledge.
LUNCH, OPTIONAL BOAT AND RETURN
Lunch is ordered from the menu at a local restaurant and paid directly. If you add a boat trip, we fit it around the land route before the drive back to Murmansk.

FAQ
Questions before a day in Teriberka
Five practical answers about the road, boat, lunch, walking and children.
What happens if the road closes?
The Teriberka road can close during a storm. If the authorities close it, we will offer another date or agree a different tour with you. The applicable cancellation terms are sent in writing before payment.
Is the boat trip guaranteed?
No. The boat sails only when the captain considers the sea safe. If it cannot leave the harbour, the land tour still goes ahead. Wildlife sightings cannot be promised.
Is lunch included?
No. We stop at a local restaurant; you order from the menu and pay on the spot. Tell us about allergies or dietary restrictions before the tour.
How much walking is involved?
The coast includes uneven stones, slopes and paths that can be icy or wet. Tell us about mobility limits and we will adjust the stops, but some terrain cannot be made step-free.
Can children join?
Often, yes, but it is a long day with several hours in the car and time on an exposed coast. Tell us their ages so we can arrange child seats and plan the walking stops.
